    • When a child is exiting the slide or passing through doorways, the supervising adult must position themselves strategically in order to ensure a safe pathway for the child.

    CLIMBING BEST PRACTICES

Climbing beyond your capabilities on any wall may result in a fall. Any fall may result in an injury despite the safety systems in place. Therefore, it is crucial that you conduct a dynamic personal risk assessment before each attempt.

While safety mats are designed to reduce the risk of injuries, it is essential to recognise that they cannot completely eliminate the potential for serious harm. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you approach climbing with caution, make sound judgments, and always prioritize your personal safety.

Additionally, it is your responsibility to act in a reasonable manner and take all essential precautions to prevent endangering yourself or fellow climbers. It is crucial to remain attentive to and comply with the safety regulations of the climbing center at all times.

    Falling off and descending

Avoid uncontrolled falls. They are likely to result in injury to yourself or others. Always down climb where possible.

Plan the easiest way down before you climb up.

Practise falling off in a controlled manner before pushing your limits.

Be aware of other climbers and their fall zones.

    TOP OUT RULE

    • The centre boulder in the ground level area hosts some top out climbs.

    • You may ONLY top out on the routes that say “top out” on the start tag.

    • NEVER climb down from the ‘top out’ climbs. Use the slide or the stairs to descend from the top out boulder.

    USE THE SLIDE SAFELY

    • Check there is no one using it or at the bottom

    • Stay seated and go feet first

    • Start slowly by using your feet and hands on the side wall if you are unsure of the speed

    SPOTTING

    • Spotting involves providing assistance to a climber in managing their fall, rather than trying to catch them completely.

    • Do not attempt to spot someone unless you are confident that you can do it safely.

    • Always gain consent before spotting

    • Please understand that the following rules are there for the safety of all of our customers.

    • Studio, Workspace and Cafe visitors are all required to follow this process before being allowed to enter the climbing areas.

  • To participate in any activities at Yonder, it is mandatory to have completed the appropriate registration form on our system, watched our safety video and have agreed to our Terms and Conditions.

    STUDIO WAIVER

All individuals participating in any studio or gym class must register on our Momence system and have signed the studio & gym waiver.

    CLIMBING WAIVER

    Adults

ALL ADULTS wanting to climb or to step onto the matted areas at Yonder, must watch the safety video and sign the adult registration waiver for climbing. This confirms your agreement to adhere to the established rules and to acknowledge the inherent risks associated with indoor bouldering. This indicates that you understand the risks and hazards present in the participation of climbing and that you will uphold the terms of use of the centre to minimise any risk of injury.

If a customer has never been climbing before we STRONGLY ADVISE booking onto an adult induction before they go climbing unsupervised.

For Under 18s, please see the Under 18 sections.
