Emotional Wellness

Self-esteem and optimism are powerful healers. Similarly, expressing love and other emotions help achieve balance in the face of challenges.

Improve your wellbeing with a Morning Routine!

1. Meditation

Sit comfortably to start with, for 5-10 mins. Pick something to focus on, be it your breath, a body scan or chose a guided meditation aid such as Headspace or Waking up.

2. Practise gratitude

Think of 2 things you are grateful for.

Think of 2 things you forgive yourself for.

Think of 2 things you love about yourself.

3. Visualise your goals

Seeing your goal as already complete in your mind’s eye – is a core technique used by the world’s most successful people. Visualisation is effective because it harnesses the power of our subconscious mind.

Imagine in detail a picture of yourself having completed your goal, whatever it is.

4. Exercise

You might keep it simple by going for a run or a cycle. Yoga is another great way to start the morning or you could pick one of our home training workouts. This might be a good time to work on any weaknesses you may have, flexibility, pull ups, or do any rehab you have been given. You could create a physical goal you’ve wanted to do for ages, such as do the splits, handstands or press ups.

5. Write it down!

Keep a journal and use it to record progress on each step. Reflect on the day before.

You might use these questions to guide you to start with:

How long did you meditate for, and how did it feel afterwards?

Write down your answers for practising gratitude.

How did the visualisation go today and what did you visualise?

What exercise did you do, and how did it feel?

How did today compare with yesterday?
