We are super excited to announce as part of Yonder’s Party weekend an all levels workshop on AcroYoga; the practice that combines yoga, partner acrobatics and healing arts. Our aim to encourage you to move, connect and play.
We will explore the elements of trust and calibration beginning with personal body awareness through yoga asana, partner stretches, assisted inversions, basic partner acrobatics, therapeutic flying and Thai massage.
Come with an open mind and willingness to play. No partner needed.
About Jaqui Wan
Jaqui has an asana yoga practice that spans in excess of 20 years and as a result has accumulated thousands of hours of self-practice and training and has been influenced by several teachers and styles. Despite this experience she still sees herself as a student and is constantly learning new things in her practice and through her teaching.
She has been drawn to strong and dynamic styles of asana yoga beginning with Ashtanga Vinyasa to Dharma Yoga and Tripsichore; she has also been hugely influenced with her training into myofascial movement, drawn from Tom Myer’s ‘Anatomy Trains’. This supports and legitimises, anatomically and physiologically, the Nadi, Sen and Meridian energy lines in the body and how that applies to a fully functioning body, thereby marrying up her work in the healing arts.
Since being certified as and AcroYoga teacher in 2006, she has been a complete convert to this practice and as a such has been studying partner acrobatics since her teacher training. She started out as a flyer and for the past years discovered the joys of being a base, despite her size being at times a disadvantage.
