What’s happening in Yonder for PRIDE?!

CATCH ‘EM ALL - PRIDE COLOURS COMP

Pick up your score card at Reception to compete in the PRIDE flag social comp!

Starting evening of the 7th June - 27th June: Spend 3 weeks climbing as many of the PRIDE Progress Flag climbs to score points in the comp! Climbs will be tagged around the centre based on which climb and colour they represent. Prizes will be given to the highest scorers with extra Raffle Prizes to be won! Come join us at the BIG QUEER CLIMB PARTY on the 27th June to crown all of the winners and win some great prizes! :D

At the desk, choose to make a donation to our chosen charity for your scorecard.

BIG QUEER CLIMB & PARTY!

Thursday 27th June | 6pm - 11pm (climbing until 10pm)

Come and join us for a night of great climbing, a live DJ set and Pizza with a FREE PINT into the evening! We want to see everyone there for a good-vibes-only climb night <3

We would really like to help new climbers find their way into the right communities where they can confidently get involved with the sport.

If you are looking for a welcoming, inclusive and VERY FUN group of people to build your climbing confidence, have a browse through thge directory to find the perfect social for you.

Each group going out of their way to create safe spaces, support good causes, and spread love in their work and throughout their communities.

About the art:

Local queer artist El found at @lovefromeleanor_ was inspired to tie together the colours of the newest Progress PRIDE Flag in with elements of great outdoors, in the hopes to encapsulate both the community and spirit of bouldering as an inclusive sport

A LITTLE ABOUT MERMAIDS

THEIR work

Mermaids supports transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children and young people, as well as their families and professionals involved in their care.

Transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children and teens need support and understanding, as well as the freedom to explore their gender identity. Whatever the outcome, Mermaids is committed to helping families navigate the challenges they may face.

THEIR support…

  • Reduces isolation and loneliness for transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse children, young people and their families.

  • Provides families and young people with the tools they need to negotiate education and health services.

  • Helps young people to cope better with mental and emotional distress, and equips their parents with what they need to offer individual support.

  • Improves the self-esteem and social skills of children and young people.

  • Improves awareness, understanding and practices of teachers, GP’s, CAMHS, Social Services and other professionals.
